BAD LUCK

Sure we've all had some bad luck playing this game. Ever pull the wrong guy? Go to jump Ellis because he's helping up am incapacitated Rochelle but end up landing on Rochelle? Ever charge no one off the bridge? Have a buddy get charged during a hoarde, switch to your rifle only to have to reload it?

But Seansie, my friend - you take bad luck to a whole new level! It's gotten so bad that I actually feel bad for you much of the time...

Blindly toss rocks over a wall at the survivors 500+ feet away? Seansie walks into the rocks not once, but FOUR times. Go to charge that one dude with 10% health left - he moves and Seansie steps in your way to take his place. Get shot as a boomer faaaar away from 3 of the survivors - the 4th is Seansie who was standing next to you and gets knocked out a window from the blast. Spit in a wide open area and Seansie will find a way to walk on the spit for a second or two while everyone else avoids it. That survivor that's waaay to close to you while you're a tank? It's Seansie...

I could go on, and I'm sure a lot of you all could too. I want Seansie to know he is not being targeted - as a matter of fact if I can I often avoid attacking Seansie - but he can't seem to avoid being attacked

I like poor Seansie but, my friend, you have the WORST luck playing this game - it's not even a skill thing. I'm not the only one who notices. My buddy Seansie is some kindof L4D pain magnet. The other night it got so bad I sent this msg in all-chat - "Seansie GET OUT OF OUR WAY"

Interesting theory about the luck angle, Monkey... but in my (somewhat addled) mind, I perceive those events as a conspiracy (created by Valve) to convince me that I'm really not as awesome as I think I am... HA!

Really though, I just don't have comparable skills to most of you guys. I was kind of shitty at this game BEFORE we started playing the CONFGL stuff and the Realism stuff; it's a bit harder for me to keep up. Luck certainly is a part of it,* however, if I were more skilled, I wouldn't put myself in those situations where I can be pounced/boomed/spit on in half a second. That being said, I take comfort in knowing that pretty much everyone else has had that happen to them, too.

Bad luck or bad skill, ultimately it doesn't matter... it is only a game, after all. I still enjoy playing whether I win or lose.** I have fun and I hope that the people who play with me have fun too. I'm not overly competitive and I know that can be frustrating for some people... I hope that everyone understands that, while I'm playing, I really am trying to play well... I just can't always pull it off.***

*Especially when Valve deliberately makes me be the fuckin' tank - how can that NOT be a personal attack?
**Although I have to admit I've been a bit more cranky lately because I currently work in a soul-sucking pit of despair... Sorry for the drama!!

What would L4D2 be without Ocean's constant complaints about the massive number of zombies? (btw he never notices when his team gets zombie lite)

Faith-away always running ahead (and getting in trouble)?
Or
Smuggler running ahead, getting in trouble, then complaining his team (ie his personal bodyguards) didn't save him fast enough and should know where he is at all times?
Or
Nova ragequitting or kicking someone from the lobby?
Or
Awake Griffin advocating the consumption of weed while playing an average survivor but waaay above average special infected?
Or
Asleep Griffin playing a waaay below average survivor and special infected and not moving, much, if at all?
Or
Eta swearing when he screws something up? (sounds like me)
Or
Techno calling for help using a muted, hard-to-hear volume?
Or
Chups apologizing for something?

C'MON - ADD TO THIS LIST, THINK OF SOME MORE - PLENTY OF PLAYERS TO LAMBAST!
